WHAT WE DO..
The shoot is commercially run by family members Stuart and son Robert who are the joint Shooting Tenant’s and Kay who looks after administration, finances and the catering for the shooters.
As a fifth generation Gamekeeper Stuart has successfully been running shoots for 20 years in the Northumberland area. Initially as a Gamekeeper at Chipchase Castle, Wark where he then went self employed and ran the shoot himself with the help of his family for about 10 years. He then ran the shoot at Beaufront Castle for a syndicate for the past 9 years before taking on this prestigious shoot in the Scottish Borders.
Robert Riddell is the Head Gamekeeper and is now the sixth generation Gamekeeper in our family. His experience was gained from working at Gunnerside in North Yorkshire and Raby Castle in County Durham as well as working with his father since about the age of five.
With the team having a wealth of experience we are able to know first-hand what is expected with regards to showing excellent birds, in fantastic surroundings and never forgetting that the guns are there for a truly enjoyable day.
