On Offer - Shooting Days

We can offer 200-250 bird fully driven pheasant and partridge shooting for parties of 8 to 10 guns giving normally five main drives taken from the choice of nineteen on offer.

The main drives which can include ‘Black Andrew’ will show off the height of the birds on offer and even for the most experienced guns they will certainly test their skills.

New This Season

We have increased the number of partridges released this season to give us dedicated Partridge Days from the 1st September on the newly acquired Broadmeadows.  These days can be anywhere from 150 to 350 bag days, where loaders may be required.

This has extended our repertoire of extreme quality drives such as Trafalgar, Victory, Waterloo, Wellington and the Moon.  The drives are easily accessible by all and as the birds launch themselves from the heather topped hills across the picturesque valleys you will see exactly how challenging they are to shoot.

The partridge days have been a great success this season and we have already been compared with the partridge shooting at Drumlanrig Castle.'

A Typical Fully Driven Day

1.) Meet at Kershope Farm for bacon rolls and coffee or Stuart can meet you at a local hotel if your are staying

2.) Choose your peg numbers from specially made numbered glasses

3.) After a shoot briefing and safety talk boot up and move off to the first drive about 9.30am

4.) After about 3 drives have elevenses in the field typically soup and savouries with cake & coffee.

5.) After another two drives back to the farmhouse for a three course home cooked meal sitting in our dining room with a view down the Yarrow Valley.

Walked Up and Semi Driven Shooting

For the less experienced guns or those who prefer a smaller day 'we can offer 50 to 100 bird days of pure walked up or semi driven shooting days using our smaller drives and rough shooting areas on the estate.  These will be equally enjoyable days but without all the extras provided on a fully driven day.

Dog Trials and Dog Training Days

Last season we held the Tyne Tees & Tweed two day retriever stake qualifying for the championships; The Lothian and Borders Gundog Association open stake for Cocker Spaniels; and The Scottish Field Trials Association Open Qualifying Stake for any variety of retreivers.

We are offering training days for competitors to train their dogs in the kind of conditions they can expect on the field trials e.g. kale fields.
